Color: Silver Black/Chocolate (single silver) It is our professional experience that with one silver gene this horse will continue to have issue-free eyes throughout his lifetime (you may hear about this elsewhere-but we assure you this horse is problem free genetically).

DID YOU KNOW: The Rocky Mountain horse is a very rare breed and is currently recovering from the Livestock conservatory Threatened list. The breed was a MAJOR part of American history – Help keep it alive!

Camping, High-line, group or single trail rides, stands to mount, Loves OBSTACLES, A great family horse type!

Temperament/personality
“Major” is a coming 7 year old Rocky Mountain Horse chocolate gelding. He is a good tall, sound & strong made horse. His body type is very typical of today’s Rockies with that signature, guilt-free chocolate color. Major’s people-loving personality is my favorite! When it’s time to be groomed or just hang out he is a true companion! Major is all about people, he is eager for attention from anyone who will give him their time- especially whilst catching. Major, having a gentle mind and being rather un-reactive, he’s an excellent prospect for the adv. beginner type that’s still able to guide the horse when needed. He loads and unloads easy, stands patiently tied, he loves being groomed and is easy to handle his feet.

Riding/Skills
Since I have had him here, I have put countless trail miles on him as well as teaching him “bells and whistles” like side passing, turn on the fore/hind, leg yields & neck reining. Rides well in the arena, on the road, on the trail or up and down the slopes/natural terrain. He’s been on rocky steep slopes, through mud and deep waters, over ditches and logs. I’ve also taken him out on the highway where he is acclimated around all sorts of traffic. If there is something along our adventures that is new to him, he is curious about it and quickly learns it’s ok and proceeds. Once you show this horse something he catches on and doesn’t forget, he is so smart and willing.
I’ve even rode him to town for lunch, and he stands tied patiently and quietly while you have lunch.

I have used him to check fences and check cow, and calf pairs this past winter. He has been taken on camping trips, and he hauls great and does great tied to the high line. Major gets along well with the other horses and is gentle, easy and quiet to be around. He has been around dogs, farm machinery and motorcycles.
Major has a nice low headed walk and picks up and gaits nicely as well. He also has a super great canter for a gaited horse. He will pick his leads up and lopes around slow! Major is a very fun horse to ride & a joy. He is very laid back and gentle but at the same time he has enough stamina to go to the trail head and ride all day if that’s what you choose to do. He is great with time off and is always the same horse.
Catch him anywhere in the pasture and ride him to the barn bareback if you choose.

NO vices/sourness (does not spook, kick, Buck, bite, rear, or act out in any way), ties, clips, and bathes, goes through all obstacles like a champ. He does not require any additional maintenance. His feet are regularly trimmed every 6 weeks. He is being fed approximately 2.5# Purina Ultium premium feed for optimum shine and muscle condition.

Major is reliable, trustworthy & the same whether you leave him to sit or ride her every day. He will allow the kids to mess with him and with a flip of a coin ride skillfully and artfully in obstacle courses or horsemanship patterns!

Can assist in arranging shipping anywhere in the US. If you would like to come ride him, I would love to have you. For inquiries or to schedule a visit, please get in touch with Cassie Rose with a call or text.
We take pride in connecting folks with horses that fit their needs and dreams! Don’t hesitate to reach out with questions after viewing the videos.
