They say “Pretty is as Pretty Does,” and we AGREE!!
Meet Possum.
A deep golden palomino.
Three stockings.
A beautiful blaze.
A tail that literally drags the ground.
And one blue eye and one brown eye that give this handsome boy his unforgettable
personality.
That’s how he got his nickname.
Possum has one blue eye and one brown eye—just like legendary country music
singer George Jones.
Around the farm, everybody knows him as “Possum.”
And just like the man he’s nicknamed after, this boy has a look you don’t forget.
But don’t let that flashy appearance fool you into thinking he’s all about looks.
Possum is the real deal.

FIRST, LET US INTRODUCE YOU TO HIS BREED
Possum is a registered Mountain Pleasure Horse, one of America’s rarest and most
historic gaited breeds.
The Mountain Pleasure Horse was developed in the Appalachian foothills of Eastern
Kentucky more than 200 years ago.
These were the horses families depended on to navigate steep, rocky Kentucky country.
They carried farmers, doctors, teachers, preachers, mail carriers, and children across
terrain where a dependable, sure-footed horse wasn’t a luxury—it was a necessity.
Today, only around 1,500 purebred Mountain Pleasure Horses remain, making this
Kentucky heritage breed critically endangered.
Mountain Pleasure Horses are known for their natural smooth gait, sure-footedness,
intelligence, willingness, and exceptionally people-oriented personalities.
They have earned the nickname:
“The Boy Scout Breed.”
And once you meet Possum, you’ll understand why.

MEET POSSUM
Rockin R Shoot The Moon is a 5-year-old, 14-hand, deep golden palomino gelding
with the kind of presence that gets noticed everywhere he goes.
That golden coat catches your eye.
Those three white stockings make him stand out.
His blaze frames his handsome face.
Then he looks at you with one blue eye and one brown eye…
…and you’ve got a horse you’re simply not going to forget.
And then there’s THE TAIL.
Possum’s tail is so long that it drags the ground.
And that’s not because it has been pampered, wrapped or braided for a sale photo.
That’s just Possum’s natural, pasture-kept tail.
Put all of that together, and you have one exceptionally eye-catching young gelding.
But what we love most about Possum isn’t what you see.
It’s who he is.

❤ A FIVE-YEAR-OLD WITH A PUPPY DOG
PERSONALITY
Possum may only be five, but he has a super people-loving, gentle demeanor that
makes him stand out from many young horses.
He’s simply a fun, willing, and gentle young horse who enjoys being with his
people.
That temperament makes Possum an especially interesting prospect for a family,
confident youth rider or older rider who wants a horse who feels more like a partner
than a constant project.
Of course, as with any horse, riders should be appropriately matched to the individual
horse, but Possum’s naturally sweet and curious personality is one of the qualities we
appreciate most about him.

TRAIL EXPERIENCE THAT COUNTS
Possum isn’t just an arena horse who has seen a few trails.
He has been extensively trail ridden throughout Kentucky and has also traveled to
North Carolina, where he continued to gain experience in different environments.
He’s seen the sights, sounds, and experiences that come with real trail riding.
He has been exposed to natural obstacles and is excellent at obstacles.
He’s the kind of horse that can leave the arena and go out into the real world.
And that’s exactly what the Mountain Pleasure Horse was bred to do.
Point him toward the trail and let him go to work.

MORE THAN JUST A TRAIL HORSE
Possum has also had experience outside of ordinary trail riding.
He has participated in drill team, giving him experience riding with other horses and
working as part of a group.
He’s also comfortable carrying a flag, and he has been taught useful maneuvers
including:
✓ Side passing
✓ Backing
✓ Carrying a flag
✓ Obstacle work
✓ Drill team riding
✓ Trail riding in multiple states
That versatility gives Possum many possibilities for his future.
Want to trail ride?
He’s ready.
Want to play with obstacles?
He enjoys it.
Want a horse with experience carrying a flag?
He’s been there.
Want to continue developing a versatile young gelding?
He’s ready for the next chapter.

THE KIND OF HORSE YOU CAN BUILD A
FUTURE WITH
There is something special about a five-year-old horse who already has a solid
foundation but still has years and years ahead of him.
Possum isn’t being offered as a finished, push-button senior horse.
He’s a young, well-started, experienced and exceptionally friendly gelding who
has already been given the opportunity to see a lot of the world.
That means his next owner gets to enjoy what he already knows while continuing to
develop him into whatever comes next.
And with Possum’s personality, versatility and willingness, the possibilities are exciting.

BRED FOR MORE THAN A SALE
Possum was bred, born, raised and trained right here at Rockin R Farm in
Jeffersonville, Kentucky.
And that matters.
When you purchase a Rockin R horse, you’re not simply purchasing the horse standing
in front of you.
You’re buying generations of selective, reputable breeding.
You’re buying the knowledge that comes from generations of families raising, riding and
preserving these horses.
And you’re buying something else that we believe is just as important:
A lifelong family connection.
When your Rockin R horse goes home with you, we don’t disappear.
Questions come up.
Situations change.
You may want advice about training.
You may wonder about something your horse is doing.
You may simply need someone who knows your horse and understands the breed.
We’re here.
We want our buyers to know that they can call us with future questions or concerns.
Because when you take home a Rockin R horse, you become part of the Rockin R
family.

❤ WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
We want to be very transparent about something.
We aren’t in the business of selling horses for profit.
Our family has spent generations raising Mountain Pleasure Horses because we
believe in this breed.
We are working hard to protect, promote, and preserve one of Kentucky’s great
living pieces of history.
There are very few Mountain Pleasure Horses being produced worldwide, and every
generation matters.
For us, breeding isn’t simply about putting a foal on the ground.
It’s about preserving the qualities that made these horses so valuable to the people who
came before us:
A good mind.
A gentle nature.
A natural gait.
A willing attitude.
Sure-footedness.
Athletic ability.
And a desire to be with their people.
Those qualities are part of our family’s heritage.
And we want them to still be here for the generations that come after us.
When you buy a Rockin R horse, you’re helping us keep that legacy alive.

WHY POSSUM?
Because sometimes you see a horse and immediately think:
“WOW.”
Then you get to know him and think:
“WOW…he’s NICE, too.”
That’s Possum.
He’s flashy enough to get noticed.
Gentle enough to make you comfortable.
Experienced enough to have a solid foundation.
Young enough to have his whole future ahead of him.
And versatile enough to keep things interesting.
He’s got the looks.
He’s got the potential gait.
He’s got the trail miles.
He’s got the obstacle experience.
He’s got the drill team experience.
He’s got the flag experience.
And most importantly…
He’s got the MIND.

THAT ONE BLUE EYE…
Let’s be honest.
The first thing everyone asks when they meet Possum is:
“Does he really have one blue eye and one brown eye?”
Yes. He does.
And it is absolutely striking against that golden palomino coat.
Add the blaze, three stockings and that incredible flowing tail…
and you’ve got one seriously handsome horse.
Possum isn’t just another palomino.
He’s Possum.
And you’ll know him when you see him.

WHO IS POSSUM LOOKING FOR?
We think Possum would be an excellent prospect for someone looking for:
A sweet, people-oriented young gelding
A flashy golden palomino
A smooth-gaited Mountain Pleasure Horse
A horse with extensive trail experience
A horse experienced in multiple environments
An obstacle horse
A drill team horse
A flag-carrying horse
A horse with experience side passing and backing
A young horse suitable for continued development
A Kentucky-bred heritage horse with a fascinating story

ROCKIN R SHOOT THE MOON
“POSSUM”
5 Years Old • 14 Hands • Golden Palomino • Gelding
One Blue Eye. One Brown Eye. One VERY Special Horse.
From the trails of Kentucky to South Carolina…
From obstacle courses to drill team…
From carrying a flag to simply being a quiet companion…
Possum has already seen a lot for a five-year-old.
Now he’s looking for someone to write the next chapter of his story.
Maybe that someone is you.
And when you take him home, remember:
You’re not just buying a horse.
You’re becoming part of the Rockin R family—and helping preserve a piece of
Kentucky history for the next generation. ❤
