We got Pete as a yearling from the breeder. Since then he has been my personal horse, being used on the Friesian Heritage Drill Team, shown at recognized dressage shows, trail ridden, and been in many parades.
He is a steady ride, and will be the same at the dressage show as at home. He is a solid second level horse, scoring in the upper 60's. He has an excellent shoulder-in, haunches in, leg yield, and walk to canter transition. Schooled in the counter- canter. Introduced to the half pass, and doing well. Very solid in the basics, and has the ability to be developed to the upper levels. He hauls to shows by himself with no fuss, and settles in without a problem.
He is the leader of the Friesian Heritage Drill Team, and has performed in front of huge crowds at Equine Affaire Fantasia and other events. He is solid, dependable, and confident. Does the Spanish Walk, lays down, and sits on command. Lays down and allows another horse to be jumped over him while staying down. At a show, he has also been loaned to another rider to carry her as the Christmas Angel, being the only horse in the nativity act. He was fine on stage by himself, around the camels, and other animals. If you just want to have fun or show off in front of your friends, he can be ridden bridless in the arena or around the farm.
Pete has been in parades, in the carriage, and under saddle with riders as young as 9. He is excellent out on trails, alone or with a group. He carries kids in buddy seats safely up and down hills and through water. He also drives very well, down the road and through town. In the barn, he is extremely gentle and loves kids. He can be trusted with the tiniest of tots around his legs and ducking under his belly. They can stay busy brushing or bathing him. He is excellent to shoe, standing quietly in in cross ties. He is up to date with his shots, dewormer, and teeth floating. He does not require any maintenance, or special diet. He's never been lame or coliced in his life. A full PPE with x-rays of his hocks, stifles, and front feet are on file, with no issues found. With his long mane and tail, and amazing personality, he is a rare opportunity and will be someone's dream come true.
