Solo is the head-turner you’ve been waiting for in the show ring! This 2018 Friesian x Appendix gelding is double registered with the Friesian Sport Horse Registry and Friesian Sporthorse Association. Tall, dark, and handsome, Solo stands 16.3 hands, weighs approximately 1,400 pounds, and is every bit the athletic, gorgeous partner you’d expect from his pedigree.
Sired by Otto P. Ster Sport Elite—a purebred Friesian—and out of an accomplished Appendix mare from the jumping circuit, Solo carries both elegance and athleticism in his bloodlines. He is equally suited for classical or western dressage and offers a temperament that is more “whoa” than “go,” making him junior and adult amateur friendly. True to his Friesian heritage, he’s a pocket pony who loves attention.
Solo has extensive classical dressage training and shines in both indoor and outdoor arenas which he prefers more than the trails. He is confidently showing at Second Level, schooling Third Level with baby changes, and already demonstrating talent for canter pirouettes, half pass, working piaffe, and more. His canter is truly exceptional, and he goes comfortably in a snaffle, curb, or double bridle. At local shows, Solo has earned scores of 62.2% (Level 2 Test 1) and 59.4% (Level 2 Test 2).
His wellbeing is carefully maintained with routine chiropractic adjustments and monthly saddle fittings which is the preference of the owner. Solo is as easy to manage as he is to ride—he ties, cross ties, stands for the vacuum, bathes, blankets, loads, and hauls with ease. He lives out 24/7 in the field or stalls beautifully, and remains the same horse even with time off. He is up to date on vaccines, farrier (barefoot), and all care. He has no vices.
I’ve owned Solo since he was six months old, and he has grown into a true performance horse who loves to work and show off his dressage skills. He is ready for his next competition home, and while my own interests have shifted back to western riding, Solo is eager to continue his journey in the show ring with a rider who appreciates his talent and heart.
