All very good Friesian SCAMS by Nigerian Scammer

On this website you will find several recent advertisements with the following horse names: Nanning=Douwe=Lukas=Benjamin=Chase= Goldberg including the pictures I uploaded to this advertisement. It is FAKE
You can add "Mette Mare vd Terpen" to the list of scams as well.

So I am very sorry but you cannot buy a horse from me, this is just a warning for scammers being active.

These pictures are all included in online scams, most likely stolen from someone's Facebook or Instagram.

In every instance when you engage with these scammer(s) you will be asked to deposit a reservation fee or you need to pay for documents or transport etc.

NEVER EVER do that, documents need to be taken care of by the Seller at his or her own cost, any costs for veterinarian reports, the passport, registration costs etc.  will be included in the sales price. 

A seller needs to be able to send you copies of all these documents by message without payment. If a seller does not want to do this, it is a scam.

Always go check the horse and it's passport in person and take your own veterinarian with you when or before signing the contract.

The scammers quite quickly offer to transport the horse to your address and give you for example 20 days to have it returned if not good. You only need to pay the transport cost in advance..... NEVER EVER DO THAT! it is a scam. As said, always go check the horse yourself and verify it has been chipped and the passport is correct and the owner also identifies him / herself with a valid identification document (passport or official ID card).

Again: best thing is always first before you go and see the horse, ask for all the documents, a real seller will send you copies by mail, or invite you to come and check them in person. If you cannot go and check them in person, DO NOT BUY THE HORSE!!!

For more information, try to find out the passport registration data, every horse in the EU after 2009 needs a registration and needs to be chipped. On this passport the current owner should be mentioned, if the seller says he is the new owner, he needs to update the passport before he can legally sell it, this is at the sellers expense.!!!!

Edit 10 June 2025 : METTE MARE vd TERPEN 13 year old mare, is also a scam, the horse is at it's current owner and not for sale. The seller will send an old / fake passport if requested by email, see pictures.
