His lighter mane and long, full tail give him plenty of contrast, while his bold white face and white socks add just the right amount of chrome. He has a particularly pretty head with a soft eye and refined features that complement his overall look. Big Star is stout made and built to last, with plenty of substance, a deep heart girth, strong hip, good bone, and an athletic, balanced build. He has that combination of shape, substance, color, and presence that makes him hard to overlook. His pedigree is every bit as impressive as his appearance. Big Star is sired by ARC Gunnabeabigstar, an accomplished performer with $324,265 in lifetime earnings and an impressive $1.4 million in progeny earnings. He is out of Tinseltowns Doll, a proven producer with $6,325.66 in progeny earnings. Tinseltowns Doll is by the $4 Million Dollar Sire Hollywoodstinseltown and out of the great mare Dolled Up Gunner, who earned $41,165.36 herself and has gone on to produce an incredible $336,111.52. Big Star packs an elite pedigree with proven winners and producers from top to bottom. Big Star is exactly what his name implies—he is simply a star in the show pen! An NRHA Money Earner, he has a cool, stylish way of going that makes him just as fun to ride as he is appealing to watch. Big Star has been ridden and successfully shown by Cira Beck and Jeronimo Lobo, building an impressive show record along the way. He has marked scores ranging from 215 to 216.5 in the Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 Open. He will plus half his circles and stops/rollbacks with ease, and when it is time to step into the show pen, he knows his job. He has the talent and ability expected from a gelding with his pedigree while remaining enjoyable and uncomplicated to ride. The best part about Big Star is that you certainly do not need a PhD to ride and enjoy a gelding of his caliber. For as talented as he is in the show pen, he is equally patient, forgiving, and user-friendly. Our 7-year-old daughter has ridden him, taken lessons on him, and taken him across the obstacle course more times than we can count. He takes care of her and remains patient every step of the way. When friends come over, Big Star is the horse we put them on because we know he will take care of them. They have even been able to do some of the reining maneuvers on him, which speaks volumes about his good mind, patience, and willingness to adjust to whoever is in the saddle. Big Star's potential certainly isn't limited to the reining pen. With his natural cadence and beautiful way of moving, he would make an excellent ranch riding horse. He can extend beautifully at both the trot and lope, then transition smoothly back down when asked. We have started introducing him to more of the ranch riding work as well, including trotting over poles, backing through them, and side passing over them. He takes to new things willingly and has the movement, handle, and foundation to excel in another direction. Outside of the arena, Big Star is every bit as enjoyable. He is easy to take down the trails and is comfortable riding through the pasture or down a wooded path. He will go through water of all depths, travel along creek beds, cross bridges, step over logs, navigate the obstacle course, and is traffic safe. Whether you want to enjoy a relaxing trail ride, work the obstacles, head toward the ranch classes, or step back into the reining pen, Big Star has the versatility to do it. To top it all off, Big Star is wonderful to be around on the ground and absolutely loves people. His pedigree and show record are impressive enough on their own, but it is his combination of talent, looks, patience, versatility, and exceptional mind that truly sets him apart. It is not every day you find an NRHA Money Earner capable of marking solid scores in the Open that can turn around and patiently take care of a 7-year-old. Big Star truly offers the best of both worlds—a legitimate show horse with the mind and disposition to be enjoyed by the whole family, and the versatility to continue succeeding in multiple directions.
