A young ruler –Donkey Boy strength and Valverde elegance combined

The dam, Verdesse VH, received a premium in dressage at the young horse test. She is a *** performance mare with a dressage index of 140, representing mare family 31, a strong maternal line producing numerous successful competition horses, premium mares, and licensed stallions for decades. Her 2023 foal, Vesper i Bo (by Proud James), was sold at the SWB Elite Foal Auction.

The grand-am, First Delight, received a premium in dressage as a three-year-old, is a *** performance mare with a dressage index of 146, and achieved Elite status through her progeny's merits. Her offspring include Floresca VH (by Floricello), an Elite Mare, Strathisla VH (by Skovens Rafael), awarded a premium in dressage and competing in the Breeders Trophy as a 4-year-old, and Verdesse II VH (by Valverde), awarded a premium in dressage as a three-year-old, winner of the 2023 Breeders Trophy, and Swedish representative at the 2024 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo.

The great-granddam, De la Reinne, received a premium in dressage as a three-year-old. She is a *** performance mare with a dressage index of 162 and achieved Elite status. Her progeny include Springbank VH (by Skovens Rafael), Breeders Trophy winner and Intermediaire I competitor; Springbank II VH, Danish Warmblood Champion Stallion, Breeders Trophy winner, and successful in international Grand Prix dressage with Yara Reichert; Floricella VH (by Floricello), awarded a premium in dressage and later Elite-graded; and licensed stallion Knockando VH (by Franklin).

Hesselhöj Donkey Boy won the bronze medal at the World Young Horse Championships as a 5-year-old and silver as a 7-year-old, while also winning the Danish Young Horse Championships four years in a row. He has since competed with victories at the Grand Prix level. Donkey Boy has sired numerous approved sons, including Hesselhöj Donkey Boss (Premium Stallion), Hesselhöj Downtown (5-year-old World Champion 2021, silver 2022), and Hesselhöj Double Up (World Young Horse finalist 2023). His offspring are frequently represented at the World Young Horse Championships and other young horse competitions. In Sweden, Diploid is probably the best known offspring, winner of the Breeders Trophy multiple years and represented Sweden at the World Young Horse Championships in dressage.
