All the presence of a big-boned Gypsy Vanner, with the versatility and rideability of a stock horse.

It's no surprise Gypsy crosses are in such high demand—they truly offer the best of both worlds. With their striking appearance, kind disposition, and athletic ability, they have become one of the most sought-after crosses on the market.

Whether your interests include fox hunting, cross-country, western dressage, obstacle challenges, ranch work, or simply having the ultimate trail partner, Angus is seasoned, versatile, and ready to excel.

Angus is a 2014 model, 15.1 hand black registered Gypsy Cross gelding, out of a grulla solid Paint-bred mare and by the registered Gypsy Vanner sire FKGH Broghan. At 12 years old, he is in the prime of his life with the experience and training to make every ride enjoyable. He is as kind as they come, genuinely enjoys his job, and aims to please his rider every step of the way. He is the definition of a "grab-and-go" horse—whether he's been ridden yesterday or has had time off, he saddles up with the same willing attitude. He has had extensive off property exposure and hauls out to new places with no complication.

Angus has built an impressive résumé. He has been used as a turnback horse for a cutting operation, worked in the feedlots, been day-worked, and has been pasture roped off of. Outside the arena, he has been extensively trail ridden through all types of country. He confidently crosses water, bridges, logs, gullies, and rough terrain with excellent foot placement and sure-footedness. He naturally watches where he steps, making him an exceptionally trustworthy partner on the trail.

His body control is one of his standout qualities. He easily side-passes over to open and close gates, works comfortably one-handed on a loose rein, yet willingly comes up into the bridle with two hands when asked. He's strong to the horn and can drag logs with ease, making him equally useful around the ranch.

If jumping is your passion, Angus is an absolute blast. He confidently fox hunts, happily jumps natural obstacles found on the trail, and cruises around a cross-country course with boldness and enthusiasm. He is adjustable, balanced, and straightforward to ride, giving his rider confidence whether heading to a hunter pace or simply enjoying a fun day outside.

In the arena, Angus is equally enjoyable. He schools comfortably through Second Level dressage and has begun schooling select third level movements, including the half-pass. He steps well underneath himself, works off your seat, is exceptionally responsive to leg aids, and is proficient in lateral work. Despite his substantial build, he is remarkably light, balanced, and athletic, making him equally enjoyable for western dressage enthusiasts or riders looking to continue advancing him in a classical program.

Coming from a ranch horse background, he has a snappy turnaround, a big stop, and plenty of handle. Ride him into a ranch versatility class or ranch riding event, and you'll have everyone asking where you found him. What I enjoy most about Angus is simply how much fun he is to ride. He carries his own motor without becoming strong, allowing you to enjoy long days in the saddle without constantly having to push on him. He is naturally kind, forgiving, and genuinely wants to please. Horses with this combination of willingness, athleticism, and versatility don't come along often.

Angus can be kept barefoot or shod and has excellent, hard black feet. He has no history of leg injuries, no stall vices, and is currently turned out with my yearlings as their babysitter while spending the heat of the day comfortably in the barn under fans.

Angus sells 100% sound with a current veterinary statement of soundness on file.

His vaccinations, dental care, Coggins, and all routine veterinary work are current and documented. His IDSHR registration papers will be signed and transferred to his new owner at the conclusion of the sale, along with a bill of sale.

If you've been searching for a horse that can confidently transition from the ranch to the hunt field, from the dressage arena to the trail, all while turning heads wherever he goes, Angus is one you'll have a hard time replacing.
