Meet Doc, A Leatherwood Prodigy. At Leatherwood Farm, we specialize in starting young horses under saddle for trail and pleasure riding. Doc is a handsome registered American Gaited Horse gelding, standing 14.3 hands tall with a rich sorrel coat and a striking flaxen mane and tail that give him a standout presence. He is strong and built with muscle, carrying himself with a bold, athletic frame that is ready for long days on the trail. Brought along at Leatherwood with a calm and correct foundation, Doc is ready to hit the trails with his next rider. He steps right up to the mounting block and stands patiently, making him easy to handle and enjoyable to ride. Around the farm, he has been exposed to tractors, ATVs, and kids playing, and he takes it all in stride. Out on the trail, Doc is confident and steady. He crosses logs, water, and mud with ease, rides out alone or in a group, and gets along well with other horses in turnout. At the barn, he is polite and easy to manage, standing quietly for bathing, grooming, and farrier work.
