We help you bring this Mustang from the USA to Germany – you are not alone in this journey!
Loki is a 4-year-old, 15-hand Mustang gelding. He was recently rescued from a kill pen (see last picture), is gradually gaining weight, and has now begun his training. He is expected to be able to travel abroad in June.
A kill pen refers to sales yards in the USA where horses are sold after auctions or from private owners, often within a very short timeframe of 1–2 weeks, to find a new home before being resold or, in the worst case, transported to slaughter. Increasingly, Mustangs are affected by this practice, partly due to the Bureau of Land Management’s “Adoption Incentive Program,” which offers financial incentives to American adopters. Once the holding period expires, some of these horses are unfortunately relinquished again.
Information about the Mustang:
Due to overpopulation, 15,000 to 20,000 wild horses are captured annually by the government in the USA and placed in rescue facilities. Currently, nearly 62,000 Mustangs and wild donkeys are waiting in these shelters for a new chance.
As American Mustang Germany, we step in exactly at this point: since 2015, we have been importing American Mustangs from the USA and rehoming them across many European countries. To date, around 600 Mustangs have been given a second chance and found wonderful new homes! We also rescue Mustangs from slaughter transport every year and aim to raise awareness about the overall situation in America.
Thanks to our extensive import experience, a network of experienced trainers in the USA and Europe is available to support you on your special journey to your new equine companion. We not only assist you with the import process but are also always available for advice, support, and personal guidance.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via email at info@american-mustang.de with the horse’s name!

Loki to czteroletni ogier mustang o wysokości 150 cm. Stoi w Issigau i chętnie zostanie poznany.
Dzięki naszemu wieloletniemu doświadczeniu w imporcie, dysponujemy siecią wykwalifikowanych trenerów w USA i Europie, którzy towarzyszą Ci na wyjątkowej drodze do Twojego nowego towarzysza.
