Wir helfen dir, diesen Mustang aus den USA nach Deutschland zu holen – du bist nicht auf dich alleine gestellt! Loki ist ein 4-jähriger 150cm großer Mustangwallach. Er wurde vor kurzem aus dem Killpen gerettet (siehe letztes Bild), nimmt so langsam zu und startet nun sein Training. Er darf voraussichtlich im Juni ausreisen. Als Kill Pen bezeichnet man Verkaufsställe in den USA, in denen Pferde nach Ankauf aus Auktionen oder von Privatpersonen kurzfristig weitervermittelt werden. Diese Pferde haben oft nur ein sehr kurzes Zeitfenster von 1–2 Wochen, um ein neues Zuhause zu finden, bevor sie weiterverkauft oder im schlimmsten Fall in den Schlachttransport gelangen. Besonders betroffen sind zunehmend auch Mustangs, unter anderem durch das „Adoption Incentive Program“ des Bureau of Land Management, bei dem amerikanische Adoptanten eine finanzielle Prämie erhalten. Nach Ablauf der Haltefrist werden manche dieser Pferde leider erneut abgegeben.
