She is 9 years old and stands 15 hands. She is the first one to meet you at the gate with her ears pricked no matter what day or time it is. Honey has made yearly trips to CO and NM elk hunting for most of her life, including as recently as this year. She is used to the higher elevations and seeing various wildlife. She rides well with saddle bags, britchen, carrying a scabbard etc. She neck reins. Honey will ride anywhere in the group of other horses and mules. She steps over deadfall, crosses water, goes up and down banks. She will blaze a trail off the beaten path if needed. She does excellent camping on the highline for extended hunting trips. She has also been on countless overnight trail rides throughout the US. She travels well. Honey doesn’t have to be ridden everyday. She has a very nice ground covering walk that gets you up the trail with ease. Her jog is smooth and comfortable to ride. We have ridden Honey in the arena, through the cow pasture, and up the road. She has seen traffic and doesn’t mind it, but she does sometimes like to stop and watching the cars go by. Honey would not be best suited for a very timid or beginner rider. We have hopped on her bareback numerous times and ridden her with a halter and lead. Honey loads and travels well. She stands for saddling and bridling.
