Meet Charlie “The Bulldozer”
If you’re looking for a sturdy, dependable pony that can handle just about anything you throw at him, meet Charlie, aka “The Bulldozer.” He’s as wide as he is tall and built to carry his rider with confidence and ease.
Charlie is a true trail rider’s dream. He will go up, down, and through any obstacle you point him at without hesitation. Charlie crosses water with ease- Chaos, commotion, tarps, flags, and traffic don’t bother him one bit—he handles it all like a seasoned pro. He is as close to “no spook” as they come and stays level-headed in every situation.
He’s been hauled to playday events where he has proven himself to be just as reliable in a busy environment. Charlie can be lead-lined for the littlest riders or ridden independently. He is more “whoa” than “go,” making him a great fit for a beginner rider, especially one confident enough to ask him to move out when needed. He will not run off and takes excellent care of his rider.
Under saddle, Charlie is easy and enjoyable. He will walk, trot, and lope, picks up his gaits with ease, has a good stop, backs up willingly, and neck reins like a champ. He is very easy to steer and has a solid, dependable handle. Charlie will go exactly the speed his rider is comfortable with, whether that’s a slow cruise or picking it up a bit.
At home, he’s the kind every parent hopes to find. Zia, my 6-year-old daughter can catch, brush, and tack him up herself, and even help bring up roping steers with him. Shes even enjoyed teaching Charlie a few tricks. He truly has no mean bone in his body and is a pleasure to have around the barn.
Charlie thrives on having a job, Like most good ones, he works his best when he is used. He is a good pony and one of the brokest ponies you will find.
