This 8 year old gelding is the definition of level headed and will suit ANYONE!!! Scout was raised on a ranch in New Mexico and we’ve taken him everywhere to ride – from Texas to Kentucky & many places in between. In addition to packing beginners & kids down the trails, he is the first one we catch when we do our daily ranch chores. He’s gathered cow/calf pairs, doctored yearlings and has attended many brandings. Scout can be saddled with confidence everyday, & ridden off in any direction, to do absolutely ANY task. He is extremely skilled in the arena – picks up into the most comfortable short lope, has a great spin both directions, side passes, excellent stops, and rides right between your bridle reins. He will amaze you with how fancy he rides, but he’ll also have you impressed by his simplicity. He walks out on a loose rein ready to entertain whatever it is that you throw at him! My lesson kids have enjoyed riding Scout – he builds confidence in even the most timid riders while still letting them enjoy a horse that is truly trained. Scout is easy on the ground too – easy to catch, loads/unloads like a dream, hauls quiet, stands quiet to be groomed, saddle, bathed, & tied. He stands 14.2 hands, is completely sane, healthy & sound. Gets along great with other horses of all kinds & is just overall a very pleasant horse to be around.
