“Milo” is a three year old, 15.3hh, QH gelding, with a beautiful bay-dun, roan coat. This sweet boy has an old soul. He is the best minded youngster!!! If you are looking for something younger, yet reliable, safe, and the same horse every ride, here is your boy. Not to mention he is sweet, and has a fun, goofy personality! Milo is very mature for his age, and an honest all around horse.
In the barn, Milo has zero bad habits. He can live in, or out, gets along great with a mixed herd and he is easy to catch. He stands on the cross ties to be groomed, tacked, bathed, etc. He is gentle and safe to work around, and safe for kids and beginners to work with. He is very in your pocket and can be a silly boy, he has lots of personality and guaranteed to make you laugh. He has no stall vices and doesn’t complain. He doesn’t mind my dogs running all around his feet and playing in the barn alley. Milo has great ground manners, and he is very respectful. He is good for the vet and farrier as well. He has a very gentle, calm demeanor and would make a great family horse.
On the trails, Milo is a total babysitter and takes good care of his rider. He will lead, follow, go out in groups and alone. He is not spooky, and will follow right along with the group on a loose rein. Or ask him to take the lead and he will do so willingly. Milo crosses water, loves to play and splash in the lakes, and enjoys swimming. He crosses logs, rocks, bridges, and other trail obstacles. Milo is safe with traffic, bikes, dogs, you name it. He is the type of horse that you can throw your husband on and let him just follow along. Milo will happily move out when asked, lope across wide open fields on the buckle and then drop right back down to a gentle walk. He absolutely loves trails, and he is the same horse off property. He loads and trailers like a gentleman and ties to the trailer to get ready. Milo is always up for a fun adventure, he will keep you safe, and put a smile on your face! Take him camping, fox hunting, to hunter paces, etc, he is ready to be your partner through it all!
Milo rides western, english, and bareback. He has extra comfortable gaits, with a rocking horse lope, and smooth trot. He is easy going under saddle and the same horse every time, whether he sits for weeks or not. You don’t need to lunge and he doesn’t need to be in a routine. Milo is at a really great spot in his training for his age. He has not been pushed, and he is currently set up to head in any direction. Milo is knowledgeable, yet not “finished” in any certain discipline. He is one of those types of horses that was simply just “born broke”. Smart, easy to teach, and takes everything in stride.
In the ring, Milo will walk, jog, trot, lope, canter, and rides in a snaffle. You can ride him in a halter and lead rope, and I have even played around with just a neck rope. He is very soft in your hands and listens well to voice commands. Milo knows his leads, and is learning about lead changes. He will move laterally off of your leg, side pass, pivot, back up, neck rein, and has a great whoa button. His gaits are adjustable, and his transitions are very smooth. Ride him collected or on the buckle. Milo will lope off from a walk, and he has one of the most comfortable canters I have ever felt. He will happily trot ground poles, and he has walked over cross rails. I have not jumped him due to his age, but he is brave and honest with everything that I ask of him. Milo has had an easy start to life, and he is the second horse that I have purchased from this trainer, and he does a fabulous job with these horses. Milo is currently set up to head into any direction. He shows potential in many different disciplines.
Not every three year has a brain like Milo. I feel confident throwing beginners on him, knowing that he will take care of his rider. He is very well rounded and has been exposed to a lot for his age. Milo is going to grow into one heck of a horse. With his uphill build, beautiful conformation, and pretty head, this boy has a bright future in every direction. Whether he is a trail horse or goes into the show world, he is happy and willing to do it all. If all young horses had a brain like Milo, there wouldn’t be a need for horse trainers(lol).
Here is your opportunity to own a very nice, young, safe gelding. Milo is a very easy keeper with zero maintenance. Simple diet. He is good for the vet and farrier, and can go barefoot or wear shoes.
