"AVAILABLE ON ONLINE HORSE AUCTION AT www DOT PlatinumEquineAuction DOT com BIDDING OPEN MONDAY | JUNE 1ST thru SUNDAY | JUNE 7TH! *Final price will be determined on auction site* CONSIGNOR CONTACT INFO: Clark Farms Quarter Horses 717-552-9808 LOCATION: Hustontown, PA "Peptos Scooter is a 2024 dun gelding sired by Peptos Blueprint, who has sired South Dakota futurity and derby winners, an AQHA Reserve World Champion Jr Heading Horse, wirh PE exceeding $100,000+. The dam, Cragos Scooter, has been a phenomenal producer for us over the last decade. She has always outproduced herself and adds immense bone and substance. This gelding should make an excellent rope, ranch or trail horse prospect. Clark Farms Quarter Horses is a multi-generational AQHA Heritage Breeder in Pennsylvania that hosts an annual colt-starting event that draws hundreds of spectators and potential buyers for their homebred colts. First held in 2018 with eight colt starters and a small crowd of spectators, the event has since bloomed into a weekend long event that attracts colt starters, spectators, vendors, and horse shoppers from as far as Florida, Canada and points in between to the family’s ranch in Hustontown, Pennsylvania. 𝐋𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡 is the fifth-generation co-owner/operator of the 2,000-acre ranch. While Booth takes the lead on breeding and managing the herd, her father Jack and her grandmother Lois still play a role in the business. Months before the event, Booth begins selecting colt-starters to participate. Competitors draw for their spot in line to pick the horse they would like to work with. Once partnered, they have two 1.5-hour sessions on Saturday and one 1.5-hour session on Sunday to saddle, gentle, and prepare their horse for an obstacle course. The course includes a drag, a bridge, a back, and a stop. There are also cattle to track cattle—nothing too strenuous, just enough to give the crowd (and prospective buyers) a sense of their mindset, movement, and willingness. Obstacles can be completed in any order, but all must be attempted. The breeding program draws heavily from South Dakota rancher Chuck Crago’s bloodlines. Two Crago stallions in particular—Beckwith Dun (Classy Flap x Beckwith Babe) and Docs Decatholon (Doc O Lon x Miss Straw Cody)—have left a lasting impact on their herd. They blend the “Old Cow Bred Foundation” bloodlines—King, Old Sorrel, Leo, and Three Bars—with the likes of Doc Bar, Docs Hickory, Dry Doc, Mr. San Peppy, and Peppy San Badger to create well-rounded, usable horses. “Our goal has always been to produce sound, solid, good-minded athletes with enough talent for everyone in the family to enjoy.” "
