I could write a novel about this gelding, but I will try to keep it short and sweet. We get calls all the time for this kind of gelding, and honestly, you will drive the tires off your pickup truck trying to find one like him. In the morning, when I start my day, Rolo is the first horse to come and greet me. He will stand there and hang out with you while you drink your morning coffee. You don't have to go catch him; Rolo comes to you and puts his head right in the halter. Rolo has impeccable ground manners. He stands there patiently while you groom him. He loves a good spa day. Rolo loves to have his mane brushed and will stand there for the kids to braid him. The little one even has to stand on a bucket to reach his mane, but Rolo stands there and enjoys every second of it. When it comes to riding, you can go out for a stroll bareback in a halter, saddle him up western, or even English. Rolo is steady eddy out on the trails. He will ride out alone or in a group with no issues. He will cross logs, ride over bridges, trudge through deadfall, cross creeks, etc. Rolo is sure-footed up and down steep or rocky terrain. When it comes to arena work, he is the man for the job. Rolo walks, trots, and lopes smooth circles each way. He has a good stop on him and collects nicely. Rolo will open and close gates. My neighbor's 7-year-old little boy asked to ride him last week. Rolo was a perfect gentleman, as to be expected. The 7-year-old brought the roping steers up on Rolo. The kiddo even stood up on Rolo and slid off his butt... that's trust. After their ride, the two shared some Nerd gummy clusters. Rolo is no stranger to some ranch work and is cowy. He has done a little team penning and seems to really enjoy it. We gathered and moved longhorns on him last week. He also breakaway a few out of the box. This is a good, tried-and-true family gelding!
